Scavenger Hunt for Summer Solstice - creative writing challenge for kids

What better way to celebrate the first day of summer but with a scavenger hunt...
These were always fun during summer camp for me.
You can create just about any theme (pirate treasure, spy, birthday, road trip, alphabet, colors...)

Some scavenger hunt ideas for little ones...
One of my favorite scavenger hunts to do for the little ones : is to write down clues of the item (description and location) . Give them a bag to collect it in and go hunt! Perfect for rainy days too.
You can make teams at parties and make it really challenging.

Have you done any scavenger hunts?
Happy first day of summer!

  1. Love it!
Reminds me of my childhood days, when scavenger hunts were THE thing to do. In Germany they are called "schnitzel-hunt", but it doesn't have anything to do with schnitzel...
Schnitzel refers (in that case) to small wood shavings, that were used to leave clues on which way to go in the woods (for some reason our scavenger hunts were always in the forest).
Maybe we'll do this on our next camping trip!
