Not All Gumdrops and Lollipops

Today was a tough day.

There were feelings of self-doubt , worry and overall unworthy parenting.

Among the chaos and the screams today I found some time to capture some moments to remember that there is beauty in the moments in between. Thank you Sarah, for reminding me to steal some beauty in a hectic moment.
As a friend from across the globe reminded me today that these are the moments we live for and hope remain with us. I seized an opportunity today when they were quietly playing alone, dropped a snack next to them and sneaked out for a walk in my garden. Alison and I know a thing of two about taking "the easy way out."
At the end of the day we put on some world music that seemed to kill the unpleasant feelings we all had and went to bed with happy hearts. My girl Greta knows a thing or two about that.
I will be taking a break from doing the creative writing challenges for a bit and get back to making more items for my shop and blogging. I owe a huge thank you to Kerstin and her family for playing along and encouraging me along the way. Can't wait to see your adventures in knitting Kerstin!

  4. Thanks so much for the shout-out - I have all your creativity challenges saved and we're excited to use them throughout the summer.
Alma, we have worries and not-so-stellar parenting moments every single day in this family, but I always try to make sure the days end on a high note. I think that's a win.
You captured some precious moments - those are the ones worth remembering! xoxo!

    1. So cool to have you in my fan club!
Yeah ending it well is always the key. My kids go to bed dancing and sing songs when they wake up. I still have a monitor in my little ones room and listen to her wake up singing. That is definitely a win.
Thanks for the compliments and motivating me to get back to blogging .
Your knit project is looking great by the way !

  7. Glad you found the good moments, sometimes they're hard to see amongst the tears and frustrations...and yay for getting some time out for yourself! I always laugh when I see or hear of time out for children as I think it's the parents who need it more :) big hugs to you x
