If Time Stopped

We are made up of moments...
Time has been a good friend to me these days
helping me live in the moment
We had a storm here that touched our back yard
that made these moments happen
During the storms here we play spectator because our porch is inviting
and weather here is beautiful and intense.
We could not help but watch... until a lighting bolt hit too close... we jumped and were sent running for cover.
We were left in awe of its power and all out of breath.
No electricity for a day and no cable or internet for over a week... we took a moment to be unplugged
truly forced by nature.
We had permission to be lazy and be disconnected from the world.
All the while the world was competing and yelling for their favorite team ...
we gave in to southern living ...slept, ate and played
What would you do if time stopped just for you?
How would you spend it?
Even though we missed the games this song is on repeat in my ...home.
The moments that came before were never like these
They were meticulously calculated and planned.
Much like olympic players watching the clock and planning our every move.
Currently my camera phone has been busy capturing as if time has stopped.

A few favorite mentions:
Now feeling a lot like Sarah "stealing time"...  I am so looking forward to getting her unique publication in the mail. Which I will talk about more once I get my copy. Also thankful for Alison who made my week mentioning me in her beautifully written post.  I now stalk her. Would love to get my hands on this journal, and sneak into Susan's mind. She writes so freely about love and other mysteries. Check out this great post about my new favorite chill spot in Savannah. I love their lattes.

  2. Oh, Alma, Your babies are adorable. A scary moment from nature with the lightening storm, but I'm so pleased the enforced off-line time was an opportunity for you rather than an inconvenience. What a lovely way to look at it. Thanks for stopping by my place, I'm now following your gorgeous blog.

I'd love to know more about the music you have called Amelie on your blog. My middle one is named Amelie and it's a beautiful piece I've never heard of before.

  3. Great post! Love the thoughts and collage pictures.

We lost power for 5 days last summer. My husband near went out of his mind but I thought it was fun. We sat on the porch at night. My husband played guitar, I read, the kids played and when it was dark, it was really dark! and we went in and we went to bed!
