June Musings

an event...

This weekend we attended a spring carnival to welcome June.
Although a bit chaotic we made the best of it by avoiding crowds.
The princess won a floral crown from the tickets she won from the games.

retail therapy...

I fell in love with a vintage silk reversible indian wrap skirt I just had to get
from my favorite second hand shop Two Lovers.
The princess sneaked it from my bag ... she thought it looked better on her as a floral headdress.

good food...

Brunch with my favorite bunch at Belleville Bistro.
A lovely, warm, french place we just love.
Its easy to be transported to a cafe in France with its authentic decor.

The food was simply .... très magnifique!

How did you start off June?

I love the vintage silk reversible indian wrap skirt... quiero vertelo puesto a tí! Si estuviese más cerca sería buen plan esta tarde ir a ver ropa a Two Lovers :D y después acabar en el bistro cenando con los niños.
Me han encantado las fotos. La princesa está preciosa, tu hijo me fascina....

  5. I think your post pins down the only thing I miss about being in a proper city - the whole weekend thing event/potter around the shops/stop at a cafe thing. My little town is more like a suburb - lots of houses, but very little else. I miss the vibrancy.

    1. Kat it is certainly the thing that I will miss of the city. However, I am willing to give it up or awhile so my kids can have more space. It always comes down to giving up something. I love to be able to walk out my home and walk to the library, the museum, the gardens, the shops and restaurants. The city can be suffocating with all the accessibility.
Thanks for stopping by ... I absolutely love your posts and yummy pictures!
Glad to be taking you on my journey ;)

  6. Cute! How gorgeous does that cafe look? As you know I started off June by leaving work! I'm very excited about how things are going to work out. So far I've managed to keep my head down and re-knit most of the bolero I've been designing for the last month - it's simple but working all the time didn't leave much time for knitting!

    Love the headdress :)

    1. So excited for your new adventure! It seems we are both taking on new roads.
Great to be traveling it here!
I knitted a bolero in one piece and gave it as a gift. I have been thinking to make another one it was fun.

  7. What a brilliant day. Our days have been filled with rain lately, lots of it as a matter of fact, but before that there was beaches and tide pools and camping and farm trips. Oh the weather, keeping us in. I'm excited for sunny adventures to come.

    1. The weather here has been temperamental, but we take advance when we can. Sounds like you took some good juice out of good weather when you had the chance too. Makes us appreciate it when its not around I guess.

  8. Your photos have this nostalgic, vintage feel to them that I love.

It's the yellow to the picture,I think.

I don't know, but it makes me feel like I"m with my own memories.

    Thank you.

    1. It was hard to choose from all the floral crowns, so we just picked the one that had the most butterflies.
It looks easy to make, its a great idea for a girls party favor. Glad you liked!
