Universe tells us stories

Still in the spirit of celebrating spring,
we did some spring cleaning Brooklyn stoop sale style.
If you live in this neighborhood, you know this is a norm around here.
I love the thought that someone else's trash is someone else's treasure.
We started with the king's room.
I asked him to put some toys and books aside he was willing to part with.
It was a great assortment.

With the collection of Pokemon cards we had some batman, tarzan,
dr. octopus, ninja turtles, lord of the rings, pirates of the caribbean and cars.
The king sat there reminiscing all the fun he had with them.
All the movies he used to make with them.
After a second look he swapped some he just could not
part with and stuffed them in his sweatshirt.
We included a box of free stuff that has missing legs, swords, shields and junky toys.
A lot of kids loved rummaging thru that box of treasures.
We did not have a set price for anything.
As the day went on we decided two for a dollar.
Our slogan was "got a buck?, get two!"

One particular customer said "kid, you are going to regret getting rid of these"
Someone else said "wow, that is the ultimate collection!"
We took pleasure in the exchange of stories and memories with them.
The books were a big hit as well.
We had the Diary of Wimpy Kid, star wars, treasure island
and other great chapter books that decorated the sidewalk.
The princess brought us some attention by chalk drawing on the sidewalk.
It turned out to be a chillier day than we expected, but we made do.
After we made our first five dollars we celebrated
with hot drinks and sweets.
the king snuck this pic of me
At the end of the day, we had fun chatting with people, watching kids playing with the king's toys.
Some lovely neighbors gave us more than what we priced things for.
The king made over forty dollars and knew exactly what he was spending it on.
the king and in window reflections
The rest of the week we spent our days speaking
of our future plans and glanced at our reflections.

And at night, the king caught up on some reading...
he is never alone in the company of his books.

Enjoy this short film that the king loves.
It shows his love for books!
