About Moonlight and Yoda

So this face is now a part of our happy foursome.
Completely content without one this one came looking for us.
This shadow weighing about 2 ounces, a couple of months old and perfectly drawn tiger stripes
decided to follow us home.
Noticeably hungry and cold we took in this stray tabby.
After his first meal his loud "purr" told us he was content.
I wasn't buying his whole "cute, look at me purr, look how I look for your hand to pet me" act..
I was ready to take him to his rightful owner...
"just look at him... he has to belong to someone else"... i said to myself
All the while the captain named him "monkey" and spoke to him like one of kids already.
The king was on day two from recovering from the flu was getting better right before my eyes with "monkey" working his magic on him.
No way I can give him up now
Then the princess came home ... and it was like in the cartoons when little tiny hearts circle their heads
She was in love. This is what I heard her say:
" I love him so much because he is so real.. I want him to wake up...he is playing sleeping beauty with me...make pee-pee here Monkey..he needs a blanket.. his whiskers tickle me momma...I am going to take a nap with him"
Then she said... I want to name him Moonlight because its pretty and Walter because its a boys name.
Did she know its was a full moon last night? I thought
(Walter is a boys name in her class)
Well after unsuccessfully surveying the neighbors for possible owners we made room for him in our home long after he already did a number on our hearts.
I joked with Nina earlier if we could swap cats...she often refers to her feline as "my stupid cat Rufus"...I love that darn cat and his stupid ways.
The captain suggested having a blog giveaway for the cat ... not a bad idea I thought

Well after all the phone calls and comments and advice from friends and family...
he has his first doctor's visit tomorrow.

Meanwhile the king was working on origami...
thanks to these books he just finished reading ...Yoda...Darth Paper and Fortune Wookie

its amazing what you can learn from YouTube
So this is what he came up with
Then he wanted to try a harder one.
The video was 30 minutes but took us over an hour.
I did the first half and he proudly finished it off.
Yoda looks a bit grouchy here .... maybe why Yoda did tweeted me this ...

We used copy paper and crayons. Yoda don't worry, with origami paper we will rock this!
So we will be making more of the Star Wars characters...yes there is an origami pattern for all of them.
Earlier this week he read this book and loved it. (warning : you will cry at the end of the book like the first time you saw ET)

Me? I will be working on some creative projects till christmas..
Any ideas how to keep Moonlight Walter Monkey out of my yarn?

  1. Moonlight is such a sweet kitten, I love his face! Give him his own ball of yarn, see if he'll stay out of yours. :)
I know what it's like to fall for a stray. We rescued 8 cats in total before we had kids, and we kept one. The rest stayed with us for a few weeks before we re-homed them. I loved each and every one.
And gosh, Star Wars origami is so cool!

    1. Thanks Alison! Wow 8 cats! Well that makes sense I know you have big mothering heart.
As far as giving him his own ball.. that might not be a bad idea.
Moonlight is working his magic on all of us with that cute face.
The origami was so much fun...I never thought my eleven year old would be into it now he wants to origami everything.

  2. Our new furry family member "Kitty" has two small balls of yarn. I was getting tired of fighting with her when trying to finish my crochet projects and once she got her own balls of yarn she was content.
