All That Glitters

Like most families we share practically everything.
We all took our turn this time sharing germs... with sniffles, sore throats, coughing and aches.
All in time for the princess' birthday.
As a result we had a quiet celebration with not too much hoopla but a whole lot of glitter instead.
We do take medicines and practice some home remedies... but when all else fails ...
NEVER underestimate the power of glitter.
I took all her school projects she brings home and I did some glue designs and she sprinkled on the glitter... it end up everywhere for days. But hey it was starting to work. We completed 6 in all and put them on the refrigerator and her door.
The owl was her favorite one.
The glitter brought the sparkle back to her eyes
and the spunk back in her step
glitter mask
Once the king recovered he played some laser tag, went skating with friends and beat his cold drumming it away. The best news this week ... he was accepted into the gifted program in his school.
I have been exploring my connection to nature ... as I mentioned in my last post.
Documenting what goes on in my yard recently ...
I found my own spot of glitter perfectly perched on a little branch.
As the sun set bathing my favorite spot of the yard in sunlight, something glistened and twinkled
The king and I went for a closer look and I saw this...
Holding up its glittery wings just for us.
and blew us a kiss
This little guy was perched there until the sun set.
The next morning we all awoke feeling brand new.

A few sneak peeks at the happenings around here...
Peeking at the captain under the pallet piece
peek at the start of a bag

Thanks to all those who made lovely compliments on my last post
... you truly made my heart full. Thanks to those who sent us get well wishes and some extra glitter.

lucky to have caught a glimpse of "Jet" today ....she is very camera shy

  1. My son taught me that when you see a dragon fly, stand still and hold your finger up straight in the air away from your body and it will land on your finger. It doesn't always work--but sometimes it does!!

    1. We have to try that next time. My daughter has a fascination with touching butterflies which is much harder but it is fun to see her chase them around.
      Thanks for the tip!

    glitte power!
