6 More Weeks of Winter... just keep knitting

I don't know much about the accuracy of Punxsutawney Phil's predictions , but I reckon he may be right on this one. No surprise he saw his shadow today with much of our country still in a deep freeze. I took a much needed break from blogging to recuperate from the flu and it only made me dream of making warm cozy things. I had gotten some of my favorite yarn awhile back and made a promise to myself that I would do some serious damage on it when I got better.
This yarn is kettle dyed 100% merino wool. It is hand-dyed and slightly felted that gives it that extra softness to the touch. Watch this video from the factory in Montevideo, Uruguay if you are interested to see how its made. Its like Charlie and the Yarn Factory.
I got it with the intention to create a piece designed my one of my favorite knitters Andrea Rangel.  After communicating with her she was honored and happy for me to post my recreation of her design here and in my shop. She is super nice and answers all your questions really fast ... I love that.
The Artic Blanket Wrap was a pleasure to make. As soon as I started making the lace I saw this magnificent piece come to life I fell in love with it. I really want to make it in every color!
It can be worn so many ways ... shawl, scarf, cowl, wrap and even a lap blanket.
She feels absolutely luscious and regal on. This color is intense as the sun itself! Like one of my good friends said "its like being wrapped in sunshine".
I got so many compliments on it on just the one day I wore it out, I felt a bit like a celebrity! It is hard not be seen in this color.
The day these pictures were taken when it was below freezing here in the south. I was literally hyperventilating from excitement just wanting to share it, I just could not wait. Like another good friend/ amazing knitter  said "I love it so much I can't stand it!" So I cleared Lulu's favorite sunny spot window from stickers and her pictures on the wall and went for it.
Six more weeks of winter? who cares, I got you covered... I will just keep knitting.

Let me know what you think, I'd love to hear your feedback. Or just shout that you like it !

What did you do during your snow days?
