Easter Picnic

On Easter Sunday I had hopped to join in some activities in the neighborhood
but just like all other Sundays we slacked around and packed in extra pancakes.
Then the princess changed dresses three times and made a mess in every room.
Missing out on all the Easter egg hunting activities we did our own thing.
We packed blankets, lunch and cameras and headed out to Prospect Park.

Spread out our blanket at a quiet spot under an old elm tree.

and I clicked away at some silly moments..

The princess was too cold at first to venture about in her Easter dress,
and wanted to cuddle next to the captain most of the time.

After warming up her toes in the sun...

She eventually braved the chilly winds and took a stroll..

Even though we missed all the traditional activities, we enjoyed this so much more.
Laughing till our belly hurts and eating till our hearts content.
We enjoyed people watching ... from the yoga practicing family, the hula hoop dancing girl,
young lovers sipping on wine, kids playing catch, kites flying high
all the while many happy voices in the distance harmonized in sync.
We truly felt like spring is eternal here in our quiet nook.

After soaking in the sun we made a stop at the local ice cream shop

This was a great start to our spring break

Enjoy the rest of your spring break!
