Dolce Far Niente

These are the days well spent
These are the days of spontaneity
Doing something for no other reason than the simple pleasure of it
In this city of overachievers they call it "killing time"
In my home it is the art of doing nothing
My tribe are becoming masters in the art form
My handsome King
The King and I @Kos Kaffe
As we make renovations in our home
Renovations have taken place in ourselves
We look around and think this is a good place to be....
It has taken some time to get here..

POETRY

" A prayer for Blueberry Girl...Help her to help herself, help her to stand. Teach her we're only as big as our dreams."

GIRL FIGHTS

We were all sick for a while and refrained from doing "nothing"
I got distracted at what everyone else is doing and creating
Got too busy dreaming outside of my dream
Not realizing what I need is what I already have

SIESTAS

Sometimes you need to step outside and get some air and remind yourself
who you are and who you want to be.

TRAVEL

We are planning a road trip in a week for the King's birthday.
Traveling is so good for the spirit.
We were all reborn from our last road trip.
Savannah, Georgia a place that has never left me.

LISTENING PLEASURES

The King has discovered some new tastes in music.
Some of his current new favorites : Styx, Muse, Blue Oyster Cult, Journey, Tom Waits
Some of his favorite standards: Death Cab for Cutie, The Strokes, Coldplay, Talking Heads

DISCOVERING NEW TALENTS

I recently taught my first knitting class.
My cousin learned a new skill.
I enjoyed sharing my favorite activity with someone I love.

TREASURE COLLECTING

On a Monday morning we all slept past the alarm.
We teetered between rushing or getting to school super late
We played hookey instead...
We spent the day playing games, music, dancing
Making crafts, and valentines day presents

The oldest penny we own and the King's favorite coin

At the end of the day we went through our coin collection
The King needed to take some in to school the next day
We all took part in the process
His teacher said that it was the best collection he had ever seen.

I loved the antique containers some the treasures were kept in

POSING

I asked the princess to model my new baby blanket I just finished
before send it out as a gift

She loves the camera
And the camera loves her back

Take the time to do a bit of nothing...
Enjoy your present moment and their blessings
Be more with less
