Unexpected Blessings

Many things to be thankful for, but what comes to mind right now is time. The time to enjoy candlelight dinner with my tribe. Time to be able to do my favorite "nothing" at any time of day. Or waste the day away window shopping, doing a yarn project, watching sappy romance movies or simply reflecting.

princess bath

Now that I am home more I take such joy in other things i didn't before, like watching the princess in her bubble bath. She sits in it like her throne. She becomes such a lady, singing to herself, bathing her dollies, making up stories and adventures with her bubbles. I take notice of things differently now that I am no longer working outside of the house.

Every girl should indulge in a bubble bath at any age!

Another thing to be thankful for is the freedom to take part in the free events that go on in our neighborhood during the week. When in the past I was otherwise too damn tired to enjoy or bother. On a rainy day we went to a local tree lighting with a live band and a unexpected special guest.

The crowds in this neighborhood come out in all kinds of weather.
The rain was as persistent as the crowds.

Surprise Santa

Lucy was most surprised by Santa who handed out bubbles to the kiddies. I believe the same guy was the elf who handed out candy canes earlier. It was hard to take a decent picture in the rain with the crowds of kids crowding Santa. The goal however was not to take a good picture but make sure the princess got some loot.

I will leave you with my favorite song the choir sang from a sappy romance movie I happen to love:

I survived my first post!
Hope you enjoyed my first attempt at this. I hope to write about many other firsts as well.

  1. Congratulations on breaking the ice! Loved and enjoyed it :) Look forward to reading more. Adriana and you will inspire my new journey of growing an interest for reading.

As you may or may not know, I've never read an entire book. Returning to college has enlightened my life in many ways specifically acknowledging that there are many people out there like me, those who hate to read, where it always made me feel inferior and insecure. I have always been told you have to find something you are interested in and start reading there, but I never knew what really interested me.

Turning 40 has given me a new outlook on the world, a new perspective on the way I see things now, a new me and here is where "YOU and ADRIANA" step in the picture. You two, wonderful blessings in my life, my dearest cousins, will travel with me as I endeavor in my new journey. I have found what has caught my attention, inspiring an interest within me to read. Reading your blogs has awaken a desire for reading more and more. Therefore, as I become more educated in furthering my education and accomplishing my degree, I will practice my daily readings with much more than my college reading materials and add reading your blogs into my educational journey.

So, thank you for sharing these pictures, thank you for starting your blog and thank you for enlightening my reading desires :) LOVE YA ALWAYS, Tu prima, Angelique!!!
