Through the Lens Thursday : week one

Joining my friends Greta from GFunkified and Alison from Writing and Wishing on their weekly photography project Through the Lens Thursday. So excited to hop along with them on this adventure using my big girl camera.

Prompt word: soft
Location: back porch bench, Savannah, GA
Materials: unwound merino wool skein and my knitting lap blanket
Camera: Nikon D5100
Day: Jan . 2, 2014 at 3:12pm, Cloudy and rainy 56 degrees
Mood:  in need of my afternoon cup of cafe con leche

This is my "Molly Ringwald", I love it so much I hardly want to touch it. Sitting there like a newborn... "shhhh...don't disturb it I am saving it for a special project".
Right now a bit busy in the middle of other projects and orders, I took a minute to photograph this super soft beauty. I love that virgin beauty in a skein, brimming with possibilities, stirring up all kinds of projects and ideas in my head. What do you see it becoming?

  3. Ohh, a pretty infinite scarf, light and soft, not chunky and thick, worn with a cream color top, or black, or white.... light, soft, cozy. Love the color...love the photo.

  4. Everything about this picture and your page (and the freezing weather here today) makes me want to wrap one of your warm scarves around my neck :)

    1. Katie, I think you hit the nail on the head there. I was looking at all the stories of the winter blizzard coming from all my friends in the east and was moved to find a warm picture. You are so sweet for mentioning my scarves. Thanks so much and nice to see you here :)

  6. I think it would have to become something for a newborn, it seems perfect for that. Love the picture, it just screams "soft".

    1. Thanks Susi, I am working on a baby section in my shop. Don't know if this skein will make it as a blanket but it certainly inspires me to create baby things :)
